The Duke of Sussex is said to be concerned about the wellbeing of his cousin Princess Eugenie amid the fall-out of her parents’ scandal – and has reportedly reached out with an offer

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have had their lives picked apart in recent weeks. The sisters have had to watch in silence as their parents’ scandal-ridden past continues to make lurid headlines. And while they themselves have done nothing wrong, the spotlight has been turned on them, through association.

King Charles and Prince William are said to both be very fond of both Beatrice and Eugenie, who have kept their princess titles and are still very much a part of the royal fold; it’s thought both have been invited to Sandringham for Christmass.

Prince Harry is also said to have been following the Andrew and Fergie saga from across the pond and has reportedly reached out to Eugenie with a special offer to help her get a break from the scandal.

An insider told Closer that Harry and Meghan have urged the princess to ‘break out of the royal bubble’ and come and stay with them in America. “Harry has always had such a soft spot for Eugenie, she’s like a little sister to him and he’s very protective. And he too, has been feeling homesick, so it would do him a world of good to see his cousin,” the source said.

“He and Meghan are very fond of Jack as well so they’re genuinely looking forward to having them come. There’s no date yet but they’ve all agreed to make a trip to Californian happen, it’s just a matter of when.”

Harry and Eugenie have always been close, having spent much of their childhood growing up together as well as spending holidays and Christmases at Sandringham with their late grandmother, the Queen.

Both Eugenie and Jack played a key role in keeping Harry and Meghan’s romance a secret in their first few months of dating, and they all attended a Halloween party together back in 2016 shortly before the news became public.

The couple are also the only royals to have visited the Sussexes in their Montecito home, travelling to California in 2022 with Harry and Eugenie also spotted enjoying the Super Bowl together.

Harry is said to be in support of the decision to strip Andrew of his titles – but the insider said he feels a great deal of sympathy for his cousin and is determined to support her in any way he can.

“He’s determined to make sure she comes through this horrible crisis without too many scars. This whole situation is obviously complicated because he has absolutely no sympathy for his uncle and he doesn’t pretend to, but that doesn’t mean Eugenie should suffer.

“Harry had such a great time when Eugenie came out to see them in California, but it’s been nearly four years, so it’s high time she came back for another visit. Selfishly he’d love her to relocate. Having her and Jack move into the neighbourhood would make Harry so happy, he misses them. But at the very least he’s telling Eugenie to get out of town so things can calm down.”
