The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have alluded to an upcoming tour abroad to a Commonwealth country that holds a special place in their hearts, which draws huge similarities to a recent trip by a senior working royal

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have hinted at a major upcoming overseas trip, with the destination being a Commonwealth country that they have travelled to before.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed their potential travel plans to celebrity astrologer Angela Pearl, who they met in New York City at an event, as they shared they are looking to visit Australia again soon.

In a letter written on October 24, the couple told Ms Pearl: “We want to thank you for joining us. Your energy and insight were such a welcome addition. On a separate note, we hope your family in Ukraine remains safe, and we look forward to staying in touch, especially as we look to visit Australia again.”

The celebrity astrologer hails from Ukraine, but has long resided in Australia’s Gold Coast in the state of Queensland.

While the trip Down Under has not been officially confirmed, rumours have started to swirl that Harry and Meghan will indeed travel to Australia, where they went on their first royal tour as a married couple in 2018. The trip seven years ago coincided with the announcement that Meghan was pregnant with their first child, Archie.

The rumours of a trip to Australia come as Princess Anne has just wrapped up a tour of the Commonwealth country, undertaking engagements in the Australian states of Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria over a four-day trip.

The Princess Royal – who has long been known as the hardest working member of the royal family – visited Australia in her role as Colonel-in-Chief to the Royal Australian Corps of Signals (RA Sigs), with her trip marking 100 years since the formation of the Corps.

After her many trips to Australia, Anne has long maintained a distinguished and enduring association with the Royal Australian Corps of Signals, serving as its Colonel-in-Chief since 1977.

Anne’s trip, and Harry and Meghan’s potential plans to travel to Australia, came after the nation’s prime minister Anthony Albanese extended an invitation for Prince William and Princess Kate to take a tour Down Under.

After meeting with King Charles in Balmoral in late September, Albanese said there was a “standing invitation” for Kate and William to visit the country in the “coming period”, and is “hopeful” they will take him up on the offer.
