With both of the warring princes attending conflicting engagements today, it seems an olive branch from Harry to not overshadow the Firm has been snubbed by William
Prince Harry’s return to the UK on Monday brought him within just miles of his brother Prince William, as they both marked the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s death in Windsor. But sadly, despite their physical proximity, the frosty wedge between the estranged brothers still holds firm.
Just hours after arriving back in his home country for the WellChild Awards, Harry made the journey to St George’s Chapel where he laid a wreath and flowers at his late grandmother’s final resting place, in a private moment of reflection.
And at the same time, William and Kate attended an engagement of their own just eight miles away, visiting the Women’s Institute in Sunningdale where they shared memories of the late Queen at a place that was of great importance to her.

Despite their shared grief, it is not expected that Prince Harry and Prince William will meet while the Duke of Sussex is in the UK. Both brothers have a long list of engagements coming up this week, which will see them travel to opposite sides of the country.
Harry will travel to Nottingham today for an engagement, while William will visit a youth organisation in the Lambeth district of south London. Prince Harry will be back in London on Wednesday at the same time Prince William will head to Cardiff.
Their conflicting calendars seem to be no coincidence, as reports claim that Harry offered to share his official schedule and list of planned engagements for his UK trip with the royal family.
The move not only allows transparency about the Duke of Sussex’s planned events, as to avoid conflicts with Harry’s public appearances and the royal family’s engagements, but also gives William’s team a clear sense of where Harry will (and won’t) be as they plan out the Prince of Wales’ schedule, PEOPLE reports.
The sharing of diaries may also pave the way for a potential meeting later this week between Prince Harry and his estranged father King Charles for the first time in almost two years.
The two have not seen one another since January last year, where they met for just 30 minutes after Charles’ cancer diagnosis was announced.
Harry has long expressed his desire to reconcile with his father and the royal family, with rumours of peace talks first emerging when senior aides to both Charles and Harry were spotted at a secret meeting in London earlier this summer.
A US source told the Mirror that there is a strong possibility the pair will reunite, saying: “It’s clear there is now a determination on both sides to make this happen. Nobody is pretending the wider family issues have been resolved, but this is about beginning with Charles and Harry. For the first time in a long time, there’s a genuine sense that reconciliation is within reach.”
They continued: “After 20 months apart, and with the King continuing his treatment, the feeling is that the time is right to take that step. This is not about grand gestures or set-piece meetings – it’s about a simple face-to-face conversation between a father and his son. The priority is privacy and dignity, but also ensuring the door stays open for further dialogue.
“As for Harry and William, though, any chance of reconciliation between them has been rejected out of hand.”
