Chatting to two school choirs who were performing at the event, held for her patronage Place2Be, she learned that two of the children singing were celebrating their birthdays
The Princess of Wales revealed her son’s favourite song while talking to a choir of children during an event at Buckingham Palace.
Chatting to two school choirs who were performing at the event, held for her patronage Place2Be, she learned that two of the children singing were celebrating their birthdays. Kate then joked that she should be the one singing to them before sharing that “Happy Birthday” is “one of Louis’ favourite songs.”
Kate shared her youngest child’s favourite tune with the reception in honour of youth mental health charity Place 2B’s 25th anniversary. At the time Louis was just one year old but he has had the chance to hear his favourite song sung a few more times since then. Most recently he will have been the one singing to his mum as the Princess of Wales has a birthday on January 9. Louis himself was born on April 23, 2018, meaning in a few weeks he will be celebrating his sixth birthday.
While Kate has lots of experience organising kids parties for her three children there is no doubt the royals do birthdays a little differently sometimes. His big brother George got a lavish gift for his first birthday from his grandpa King Charles III. According to reports at the time in OK! Magazine the monarch spent £18,000 having a play house installed at his property for his grandson to enjoy. He paid the whopping sum to install a ‘Shepherd’s hut’ on his estate for the youngster to play in.
Meanwhile George’s birth may have been the cause of the most expensive birthday card in history. Aviation company Hangar8 repainted a private Bombardier Challenger jet with the words “Happy Birthday Prince George.” The gesture reportedly cost a whopping £120,000. In an interview with the Oxford Mail at the time, marketing director Janus Kamradt, said, “It was great fun, we’re really proud of the design. Four painters spent a month on it and they worked really, really hard. We’re unable to fly it to Prince George at Kensington Palace, so we sent him a picture of his biggest birthday card.”
But one thing Louis can be certain of is lots of love on his birthday. Back in 2019, Princess Kate appeared in Mary Berry’s A Berry Royal Christmas, and the devoted mother talked about her baking skills, telling the audience that she makes her children’s birthday cakes from scratch, which has now become a household tradition. Princess Kate has previously made Louis’ birthday extra special, Hello! magazine reports. Speaking to Mary Berry she said: “I love making the cake. It’s become a bit of a tradition that I stay up ’til midnight with ridiculous amounts of cake mix and icing and I make far too much. But, I love it.”
