Since Prince Harry touched down in the UK, he and William have been carrying separate engagements across the country, keeping the feuding princes apart amid rumours of a possible royal reunion. After reports that William rejected his estranged brother ‘out of hand’ we asked readers whether they thought the Prince of Wales made the correct decision.

Reports suggest Prince Harry is set to meet his father, King Charles, during his 4-day UK tour this week. They last met for just 30 minutes at Clarence House in February 2024 following the King’s cancer diagnosis announcement. However, despite an olive branch being extended by the Sussexes, Prince William is said to have firmly declined any potential reunion with his brother. A source told the Mirror that the years-long onslaught of highly-publicised allegations about the royal family from Harry, has led to serious trust issues between the brothers.

The source said: “William feels Harry has repeatedly chosen public exposure over private resolution and that the Royal Family can’t keep being dragged into the headlines every time there’s a new contract to promote.”

They added: “The issue with Harry, as well as Meghan, is one of trust. Ever since moving to North America, they have eroded all confidence in their ability to keep things or their criticisms private. For there to be any chance of moving forward, that trust has to be rebuilt, and Team Sussex knows the onus is on them.”

Following the news of the Prince of Wales’ rejection of the Duke, we asked – should Prince William meet with Harry during his UK visit? Out of 11,041 respondents, an overwhelming amount – 8,980 (81%) – voted no, the rift runs to deep. Only 2,061 (19%) voted yes – they’re brothers. If you can’t see the poll, click here. Here’s what some Mirror readers had to say

Supporting the results of the poll, Cynicaloap said: “Absolutely NOT! Harry is the author of his own misfortune and has to live with the consequences. William Prince of Wales and Heir to the Throne of the UK has his own serious matters to deal with such as the illness of his father King Charles III and his wife Princess Katherine who also has cancer. He should politely but firmly tell his brother where to go – back to the USA and Markle.”

Similarly, Veevee205 wrote: “Absolutely not, how on earth would that work after all the things they have said and done. William has been totally loyal to his father.”

While Amandablack123 agreed: “Many siblings have fallouts and never regret anything when getting older. If Harry was my brother I would never ever speak to him again…..and I would surely never regret anything.”

However, slamming the Prince of Wales, Nigelpwsmith wrote: “William is too obstinate to meet Harry. He acts as if he was King and is merely waiting to be crowned.”

Suzie123 agreed: “They are brothers and William and his attitude does not help. Harry is the better one here, he is the one that makes the journeys over to the UK”.

On the opposing side of the poll, Weeteduk argued: “I think it would be in William’s best interest to meet Harry and sit down and talk especially if he wants to be the next King. If he does not see Harry he will make himself look like a spoiled child and to be honest he will come up against a lot worse than Harry when he is King, so better get used to growing up now.”
