Princess Charlotte appeared to try and keep her younger brother Prince Louis in line during the King’s birthday parade at Trooping the Colour – and Louis has become known for his mischievous antics

Princess Charlotte appeared to remind Prince Louis who is boss at the King’s birthday parade.

Charlotte, nine, was seen muttering to the young prince as the national anthem played and the royals stood to attention.

Body language expert Judi James told the Mirror: “As Kate and her three children watched from the open window, it was Kate standing at the back of the group while Charlotte beamed down with an expression of pride, even appearing to mutter to Louis to ensure he stood to attention as she did while the National Anthem was being played.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales’ youngest child, Louis, is known for his adorable but somewhat mischievous antics during public events.

Today, Louis, six, was captured taking a little tumble as he stood alongside his mum and siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte before the military parade began. Footage of his reflection in the glass windows ahead of the event showed him innocently tripping on a step in the rain.

During the ceremony on the balcony, Louis appeared to cheekily tug on the blind cords as his mum Kate stood close to him, watching his every move. In his typical style, instead of looking out at the crowds, he pulled on the white cord at the window.

He was also seen yawning, but also dancing, jigging his hips from side to side and causing his mum Kate to laugh. The BBC commentator chuckled as the comical moment aired live on television: “He’s enjoying boogieing along to that.”

In previous public occasions, Louis was seen happily chatting to the late Queen and also covering his ears as planes flew overhead during Trooping the Colour in 2022.

Today, Louis attended dressed in a navy blazer, white shirt and blue tie, alongside his mum in a snow-white Jenny Packham dress adorned with a pure black trim and tie at the top of the monochrome number. Kate, in her first public appearance since her cancer diagnosis this year, also wore a Philip Treacy hat.

Kate and Princess Charlotte co-ordinated the colour of their outfits today with a nautical theme in a touching mother-daughter tribute. Reversing the colours worn by Kate, Charlotte wore a black pinafore with ivory trim and tie.

Scores of royal fans have lined the parade route in central London, hoping for a glimpse of the Princess, who has been bravely battling cancer. She received her shock diagnosis a number of months ago and has not been seen in public while managing the unspecified form of the condition.

In a message yesterday, Kate said she had been “blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement” but added she is not “out of the woods yet.”
