Footage of the late Queen Elizabeth telling off a young Prince William on the Buckingham Palace balcony has resurfaced, with royal fans comparing the Prince of Wales to his cheeky son, Prince Louis

A resurfaced clip of the late Queen Elizabeth II telling off a young Prince William has sparked comparisons between the Prince of Wales and his youngest child, Prince Louis.

A sweet montage was posted to TikTok captioned: “Every time the Queen told off Prince William on the balcony.” The clip shows Her Majesty scolding the future King on more than one occasion, when he was much younger. Hilariously, in a much later clip taken from his wedding day with Kate Middleton, she then tells the heir to the throne to stand up – and he’s quick to follow orders.

The royals have a series of rules they must follow while ‘on duty’, which might explain the late monarch’s eagerness to whip William into shape. It was even suggested at the time his gran might have felt his behaviour could have been viewed as disrespectful.

Viewers also noticed the uncanny resemblance between William and six-year old Louis. “William and Louis are very similar,” declared one TikTok user.

Another joked: “Typical grandma, love it”. A third quipped: “William still behaving like a petulant child all these years later”, while a fourth added: “You better listen to the Queen, Prince.”

Young Louis previously stole the show on Buckingham Palace’s famous balcony as he banged his fists awaiting the RAF fly-past following King Charles and Queen Camilla’s coronation ceremony last year.

During the first half of the proceedings, he could be seen letting out a big yawn, while also taking the opportunity to point out something of interest to his sister Princess Charlotte.

He yawned again shortly after the King was crowned. Television footage later showed he was no longer sitting in his assigned row. It is understood plans were in place for him to leave the service at some point.

However, he returned for the national anthem at the end of the service and the procession out of the abbey. Footage showed him singing along to God Save The King.
