One area many turn to is upgrading bedding, and one bedspread sold by Dunelm is winning lots of fans, earning a near-perfect rating from more than 250 reviews.

Dunelm says the quilted design creates “a timeless and cosy atmosphere”, while it’s also machine washable to make it easy to keep clean. For those worried about drying it over winter, Dunelm says it can be put in a tumble dryer on a low setting.

That’s priced at £35.75 – £55.25 – a 35% saving on the usual retail price. It comes in four colours – white, beige, pink and green – though some sizes are out of stock in certain colours.

Back to the Dunelm bedspread, one happy buyer said: “Beautiful olive green bedspread, love the colour. Very good quality, makes the room feel complete.”
