If you’re looking for an easy – and cheap – way to boost your summer reading then Amazon’s latest deal might be just it

Readers can have a full library in their pocket full of thousands of books and magazines with this early Amazon Prime Day deal. Amazon is now offering one month of Kindle Unlimited for free to test the waters – with it going up to £9.49 a month if you keep it after your trial.

Kindle Unlimited gives you access to millions of ebooks instantly without forking out a single penny. You can read them on any device that has the Kindle app – kindle, laptop or tablet.

There is a limit of 20 books at a time that can be taken out, which can be annoying if you want to add your entire to-be-read list to your Kindle, but it’s rare you’ll be reading 21 at the exact same time. You can check out the same book multiple times if it’s still included in the Kindle Unlimited library – but it’s not just books that are included.

There are lots of magazines included in the subscription which means you don’t have to fork out on a subscription to each of them too. It is worth keeping in mind that Kindles don’t feature any colour on their screens so if you’re looking to see the high quality images in colour you might be better off checking it out from a tablet or your phone.

Once you start paying for your subscription it doesn’t take long to actually make a saving. Our resident bookworm has recently tucked into Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series after seeing it all over Bookstagram. It would cost £22.95 to buy them all on Kindle but as she’s flown through them in just a matter of weeks there’s been a saving of over £12.

You can read off apps on your phone or other devices but the Kindle devices glare-free screen and catered to reading experience are popular for a reason.
