Record Store Day falls on April 20 this year – so which vinyl is worth a lot of money, and do you have any of these rate LPs gathering dust in your collection?
Record Store Day is fast approaching – and if you’re an avid vinyl collector, your collection could be worth up to £67,000.
A2D2, a company that connects analogue music devices to smart speaker sound systems, has researched the most valuable records. One of the rarest vinyl is The Beatles’ White Album, which could fetch up to £10,000, while the band’s Please Please Me album sells for up to £6,000.
Those old vinyl records may be hidden in prized record collections handed down through generations, or they may be sitting and waiting in your local charity shop. Vinyl sales in the UK surged by 11.7% in 2023 to 5.9 million units, according to BPI analysis based on Official Charts data, in what was the highest annual level since 1990.
