Wayne Broadhurst, 49, was tragically knifed to death while walking his dog in Midhurst Gardens on Monday
The man who was killed in the Uxbridge triple stabbing has been pictured for the first time. Wayne Broadhurst, 49, was tragically knifed to death while walking his dog in Midhurst Gardens on Monday (October 27).
The Liverpool Football Club supporter “kept himself to himself” and was very “very respectful” when he would walk his dog in the streets near where the incident occurred, a woman staying inside the cordon has said.
She told the PA news agency: “He was just an average normal bloke, kept himself to himself; when the kids were walking down the road to go to the shops he would cross to the other side of the road with his dog.”
She believed his dog was a cocker spaniel, she said, adding: “(He was) just an average, normal bloke, kept himself quiet.
“Very respectful when he was walking his dog around the kids and if I was walking down here he’d deliberately walk over there – he’d deliberately cross to the other side, even though the dog was calm and everything.”
Safi Dawood, 22, of Midhurst Gardens, Uxbridge, was charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, and possession of an offensive weapon today. He will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Mr Broadhurst died at the scene, after paramedics were called to reports of a stabbing at 5pm. Safi Dawood and Wayne Broadhurst were not known to one another, say police.
Two other people—a 45-year-old man, who remains in hospital with life-changing injuries, and a 14-year-old boy, who has been discharged from hospital with neither life-changing nor life-threatening injuries—are also being supported by officers. They were both known to Dawood, confirmed the Met.
Dawood was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. He was assessed when he entered custody and later required hospital treatment after suffering a medical episode. He has since returned to police custody, where he remains ahead of his court appearance.
