If you’ve been considering getting one but have been put off by the high price point, now is the perfect time to snap one up for yourself, as the Ring Video Doorbell 3 has just been discounted in an early Amazon Prime Day early access sale. The video doorbell has been praised for its great picture quality and how easy it is to set up and use, with many hailing it for working much better than cheaper alternatives. The Ring Video Doorbell 3 is the newer upgraded model following the 2 version, and has improved in several different ways.
Its main update is an improved motion detection feature, which works to quickly alert you to any movement around your home. Although it’s sensitive enough to even pick up on passing cars, some reviewers mentioned you can change the setting to detect people only, so you don’t get constant alerts every time a car passes your driveway.
Fancy free takeaway delivery? Access to Deliveroo Plus is one of a host of advantages of Amazon Prime membership, including exclusive Prime Day discounts and perks on Hello Fresh, music, books and Prime Video. Usually £8.99 a month, you can now get a 30-day free trial to get access to the latest deals.
It also has 1080p HD video with features that let you see, hear, and speak to anyone directly from your phone, tablet, or computer, so even if you’re not home you can instruct a delivery driver to leave your parcel somewhere safe. If you’re busy, you can also use the Quick Replies feature to respond with a pre-selected message.
It’s also easy to set up and connect to your wifi via the Ring app, and it comes with all the tools you need included in the kit to help you install it to your wall. It’s worth noting though that if you want to be able to record, review and save your videos you’ll need to pay for the Ring Protect Plan subscription service each month – otherwise you’ll only be able to view videos live.
The Ring Doorbell 3 has racked up almost 6000 five star reviews on Amazon, with one person saying: “Great product. Build and quality is good. It works with the zone areas as well. I have purchased cheaper similar items that haven’t worked anywhere near as well as this Ring product.”
Another added: “Easy to set up, the Ring app takes you through the installation process. Camera has a great view, and you decide on your app as to where you want the camera to be more beneficial for your needs. Picture doesn’t do it justice and obviously I have blanked out my neighbours’ houses. Just what I needed for security 10/10 for me.”
Whilst a third wrote: “I have it on the angled bracket on the door frame and can see along the wall of the house, easy installed.” However some complained about the wifi connecting being unreliable.

Easy to set up, came with everything I needed to put it in position, even the screws, plugs and drill bit! It’s got a longer battery life than my old Ring doorbell, higher resolution and came with a chime for indoors too, love it!”
