An expert has said the Royal Family can represent the best of the country while saying it is “hard to equate” how much money Prince William receives from the Duchy of Cornwall

Royal Family funds provided in the Sovereign Grant will ensure The Firm can represent the “best of Britain” going forward, a royal expert has said.

King Charles III has reportedly long wanted to shrink the family’s working ranks, with recent figures showing that he has managed to shrink expenditure covered by the grant. The latest data shows that overall net expenditure has shrunk by 17 percent to £89.1 million, with the King’s ascension to the throne costing just £0.8 million.

While the amount of funding has changed in recent years, experts have said it is vital that The Firm continue to receive the money needed to continue to represent the UK. Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Ingrid Seward said the remaining workers are representing “what is supposed to be the best of Britain”.

She said: “King Charles knew having so many working royals was costing far too much. He immediately reduced the number. No more jumping in and out of helicopters as they used to. They are all now extremely conscious of the costs and the unsustainable impact on the environment.

“But it is important the Royal Family is properly funded so they can operate efficiently. They are representing what is supposed to be the best of Britain. If we are not prepared to fund them properly, we shouldn’t have them.” Ms Seward concluded that, while it is difficult to equate how much money Prince William receives from the Duchy of Cornwall, The Firm “continues to represent fantastic value for money”.

She added that this appears to have come with a change to the working royals’ public image, as their lives “do not seem glamorous any longer”. The expert continued: “It is hard to equate how much William gets from the Duchy of Cornwall. Of course he should donate to personal charitable causes.

“He is in the fortunate position to do so. Others with his kind of income also give huge amounts of money to charity but don’t shout about it either. The royal family continue to represent fantastic value for money. Their lives do not seem glamorous any longer as they have no personal freedom. King Charles is careful with money and always has been especially if it comes from public funds.”
