Salmon is a healthy and delicious fish that can be easily cooked, but one cook and co-founder of Inspired Taste has shared an easy hack to take your salmon to the next level
Salmon is not only a healthy choice but also a treat for the taste buds, with the right cooking techniques turning it into a special meal. Joanne from Inspired Taste has revealed that baking salmon with brown sugar can take your fishy fare to new delicious heights. She exclaimed: “This brown sugar-baked salmon is such a delicious and easy dinner.”
She added: “Our easy brown sugar rub is perfect for salmon fillets. It caramelises and turns into a sweet and smoky glaze in the oven.”
The trick is that brown sugar helps to seal in the moisture, keeping the salmon succulent throughout the cooking process.
Of course, let’s not forget that this prevents the salmon from drying out, reports the Express.
Moreover, the molasses in the sugar forms a tantalising caramelised crust that deepens the flavour and adds a subtle sweetness.
This will enhance the natural savouriness of the salmon.
How to make salmon tastier
First, crank your oven up to 200C and prep a baking sheet with parchment
Pat your salmon fillets dry, oil them up with some olive oil.
Then whisk together a mouth-watering mix of brown sugar, lemon zest, paprika, and a pinch of salt.
Lavish this sweet concoction over your fish, giving it a good rub down.
If you’ve got the patience, let it sit and soak up the flavours for 10 to 15 minutes.
When it’s time to get cooking, lay the fillets skin-down on the sheet and bake them off for about 12 to 15 minutes.
This is until they are perfectly cooked through.
Remove from the oven and your delectable salmon is ready to be devoured.
If desired, serve with lemon wedges for a zesty squeeze over the salmon.
