Sarah Ferguson’s uncertain future explained after fallout of Epstein scandal – The Mirror

With the former Duchess of York adjusting to life as a commoner after being stripped of her titles and evicted from the Royal Lodge, her future accommodation and job prospects are up in the air

What you need to know about what lies in store for Sarah Ferguson

  • With Fergie being booted from the Royal Lodge alongside her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, many have speculated where she will now live. The two most likely options are for her to lean on her daughters – Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie – for help.
  • According to the Mail on Sunday , Sarah may be considering moving into a newly-renovated “granny annexe” on the grounds of Princess Beatrice’s Cotswolds estate. Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi bought the stunning countryside pad in 2021 and live in the main home with their children Sienna, four, and Athena, who will turn one in January.
  • Fergie’s other housing option is situated aboard, with rumours emerging she could be moving into a guest suite in Princess Eugenie’s £3.6million villa in Portugal , where she lives part-time with her husband Jack Brooksbank.
  • The former duchess is reportedly considering new income options, with sources claiming she has been inundated with offers to write a tell-all book about her experience within the royal family and the downfall of hers and Andrew’s reputation amid the Epstein scandal.
  • A source told The Sun: “Sarah and her team have had offers from all over the world for a sit-down. So she’s thinking things over very carefully. She and her team know a televised interview would be make or break for her in terms of salvaging her reputation. It would also give her the chance to spell out the fact she knew nothing about what Epstein and his associates were doing in terms of abusing girls.”
  • Another source told the Express that Fergie is “actively open to offers” from TV networks and book publishers to replenish her income after being cut off from the royal family. The source said: “For the right amount of money she is willing to spill everything, but she’s hoping to make enough money that it will give her a nice little nest egg for the rest of her life. She wants somewhere in the region of £10million.”
  • Sarah Ferguson’s reputation was shattered after an email she sent to billionaire paedophile in 2011 resurfaced, in which she called him a “steadfast and supreme friend” despite denouncing him in the press over his conviction for child sex offences.
