The Met Police has charged a second man over an alleged assault in Hanover Square two years ago, following news on Thursday (May 15) that singer Chris Brown was facing charges.

American Omolulu Akinlolu, 38, will appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday, May 17) charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.

The charge relates to an alleged attack at a nightclub in Mayfair on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

Chris Brown, 36, has already appeared in court after he was charged on Thursday, May 15, with grievous bodily harm with intent.

He appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 16, and was remanded in custody to appear at Southwark Crown Court on Friday, June 13.

The charge relates to an assault, which reportedly took place at a venue in Hanover Square in London, on Sunday, February 19, 2023.

District Judge Joanne Hirst told Brown yesterday the alleged offence was a matter “too serious” to be dealt with at her court as she sent the case to London’s Southwark Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on June 13.

She refused an application for bail from lawyers for Brown, who was arrested at Manchester’s Lowry Hotel at 2am on Thursday by detectives from the Metropolitan Police.
