Finding mould in the home can be worrying, but cleaning fans are rushing to supermarkets to get their hands on a £1.50 cleaning product that’s said to help get rid of the fungus in your bathroom, washing machine, and garden furniture
Seeing damp or black mould spreading in your home can be alarming, but there’s a quick fix according to shoppers.
When water vapour in the air hits cold windows, it forms water droplets on the glass which leads to mould. Leaking roofs and pipes can further add to the problem, and while mould is difficult to clean, it can also be dangerous for your health.
Cleaning products can be expensive and spending a fortune on sprays and scrubbers is another unwanted burden on the purse strings. But now cleaning fans are raving out a cheap product which is sold in supermarkets and helps clean everything from your washing machine and garden furniture to your bathroom when mould strikes.
Shoppers say that the Astonish Mould and Mildew Blaster helps get rid of marks within 10 minutes. The product can be purchased at Asda for £1.49. Sainsbury’s are also selling the product for £1.50. The product was previously crowned the UK’s number one product for removing mould.
A woman recently took to social media to ask for the best advice on methods to clean her windowsills and free them of mould. Writing on Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group, she said: “I need some hints and tips on how to remove mould from windows and ceilings. I’ve tried fungicidal spray on the ceilings. Although the black has gone there are still stains.
“Plus on one ceiling there is artex and because I rent I’m scared to rub too hard. The windows are UPVC and the mould seems to be ingrained.” Cleaning fans were quick to mention the Astonish mould spray.
“Just spray and leave for 10 minutes and it wipes off,” said one. One other added: “Astonish Mould and Mildew blaster spray. Works for me.”
Agreeing, one other added: “I use this, it’s amazing. Spray on and leave. Hasn’t come back.” One other added: “After using this, now I know why it’s called Astonish! It is absolutely amazing!
“It’s cleaned all around my PVC windows – they are now bright white within a few seconds and no scrubbing needed!”
