A Met officer who asked a girl who he met when she was 14 what her breast milk would taste like has been barred from policing. PC Sonny Pooni, who resigned before his hearing on June 27 this year, spoke to a number of girls under 18 on social media, including a 12-year-old who ‘felt like she was being groomed’.
The victims – who creep Pooni asked disgusting things to on platforms such as Amino, Discord, WhatsApp and Telegram – are referred to as Child A, Child B, Child C, Child D and Child E. Cops found 106, 987 pages of communications scattered across 169 chats.
His offending came to light after Child A collected evidence from other kids on Amino on a centralised document and sent it over to the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC). The two met on the app and within weeks Pooni began t online sexualised ‘role playing’, by which time the victim was 15.
He described it as an ‘imagination exercise’ using asterixis as a code for role playing. He suggested lip kissing which was a major red flag to Child A that something was wrong.
In a desperate bid to protect her innocence Child A said she was bi-sexual which she desperately thought would protect her from him. However, this did not dissuade Pooni, who said: “I wonder what your breast milk would taste like?”
She also claimed that “he lifts up my skirt and says wow wind is strong today”. Child A was highly uncomfortable and distressed as a result.
Paedo Pooni met Child B when she was 12 and spoke on Amino under the name ‘Jazz’ until she was 16 at which point he asked if they could have a closer relationship, having started his own online community. Pooni began having ‘lovey dovey’ conversations and suggested the two were in an exclusive relationship, with a child who has only just turned 16 giving her the impression that she’s now his girlfriend despite him been an adult.
The panel also revealed Pooni told her their relationship was private and to keep it a secret, but added Child B claimed their conversations weren’t sexual. Her mum was worried about her being online so late but was reassured when she learnt that ‘Jazz’ is a police officer.
Child C was American and Pooni thought she was 12 when they began talking. But when she said she was 15 Pooni repulsively said “damn I got a loli”, a reference to ‘lolita’ which is a slang phrase used to describe someone who is underage.
Pooni even lied to Child C, saying he was 19 when in fact he was 21. She reminded him that “it’s illegal to date someone of his age in my country” but he did not care and said he was not bothered as he was training to be a cop.
His sickening correspondence also saw him insist on starting a a ‘love relationship’ with Child C, while he was fully aware she was 15, which is shown when he asked her “how was school?” Child C left the Amino community in the summer of 2020.
Despite this perv Pooni continued to message her on Amino asking her what the problem is. She says ‘I know you hurt others, I felt jealous over you, you are grooming minors’. In July 2020 Child C said she’d been having panic attacks and feeling afraid.
Child D – from Bulgaria – was sent money three times via PayPal. He thought she was 14 and made it clear he wanted to have sex with and kiss her.
She corrected him when he says you are 14 to say she is 17 years old. FPC Pooni also sent a picture of himself to Child D dressed in his MPS uniform and a further picture wearing a suit and body armour.
Transcriptions show the vile ex-cop trying to manipulate the Bulgarian girl where he said “the fact that I am willing to send you a photo of me in my uniform shows how much I trust you, I have only shown this to my family”.
His final victim – Child E – was Japanese and her age couldn’t be established but cops were satisfied she was under 18. Their chats saw Pooni quiz the girl about school life as well as wanting to see her without clothes, wanting to have sex and wanting to cuddle her.
She shared pictures of herself both in and out of her underwear with Pooni. He called her a ‘cute girl’ claiming she is ‘very lucky to have a cute girlfriend’.
Other disgusting chats saw him tell Child G that he ‘needs her love’. Commander Paul Brogden found that Pooni’s behaviour was so bad he needs to be added to the College of Policing Barred List and will never again be able to serve as a police officer in this country.
He would also have been sacked if still serving.
