The Silvertown Tunnel has reopened following a “customer incident” in the northbound tunnel this morning, which required assistance from emergency services.

The road reopened soon after the incident but drivers continued facing congestion throughout the morning. Conditions have now returned to normal.

A Transport for London (TfL) spokesman said: “The Silvertown Tunnel was shut from just before 7am until just after 8am this morning due to a customer incident. We apologise to customers for the disruption caused.”
