A woman has shared a miracle product that may “look weird,” but it “actually works wonders” and means you won’t need any other skincare product or even makeup, because it will make your skin look so good. Lucy Lupinie shared her 89p hack on Instagram, thanking the woman who shared it with her because it improved her skin a lot.

“Thank you to the girl who told me to buy a cucumber and rub it on my face instead of [using] skincare. I owe you my life,” she gushed, explaining in the caption that the cucumber needs to be “frozen”.

Lucy said that her “skin has never been better” and her “eye bags have never been better”.

She even said that when she’s finished doing it daily, her skin is “perfection” compared to when she used more ‘traditional’ skincare products.

Lucy reckoned the cool cucumber had elimited the “redness” to her skin, saying: “It’s the best skincare and makeup that you can get,” gushing about the fact you can get it for just 89p in most supermarkets.

“Oh my god, I am so in love,” she shared, urging people to try it for themselves to see whether it worked for them.

She said it’s like “having an ice roller, skincare and makeup” but with all the benefits of using a cucumber.

“It leaves you with no puffed eyes, no redness, nothing,” she ended the video by saying.

In the comments, someone wrote: “This is something my great grandma taught my grandma and this har going down in our family now im passing this down to the next generation”.

One man fumed: “You know what works? Stop using 471826292 products on your face. You guys have been brainwashed by the beauty industry”.

Healthline has shared that cucumbers have many benefits for the skin because they are 96% water. While they don’t specifically recommend using cucumber in the way Lucy did, there are many methods they do suggest you can use cucumbers to your advantage.

1. Apply a cooling eye treatment to help with puffy eyes

Cucumbers can help with puffy eyes because they have a high water content, which provides a cooling and hydrating effect when placed on the skin.

The cool temperature of cucumber slices can constrict blood vessels and reduce swelling around the eyes. Additionally, cucumbers contain antioxidants and flavonoids that may help soothe skin irritation and decrease inflammation, contributing to a reduction in puffiness.

Placing chilled cucumber slices over your closed eyes for about 10–15 minutes can offer temporary relief from puffiness and refresh the eye area.

2. Make a cucumber mask to help with irritated and acne-prone skin

Cucumber face masks are considered beneficial for acne-prone skin because cucumbers have a high water content, which helps hydrate the skin without making it oily.

Infuse the soothing ingredients of cucumber water with bentonite clay to create a mask that can protect against skin irritation and swelling.

The natural cooling effect of cucumbers can help calm inflamed breakouts, while their mild astringent properties may assist in tightening pores and reducing excess oil production.

Additionally, the gentle nature of cucumber makes it less likely to cause further irritation, making it a suitable option for sensitive, acne-prone skin.

3. Relax with a hydrating cucumber mask

Because cucumber is 96% water, you can mix it with other natural ingredients to create a mask that helps to exfoliate the skin and soak up cucumber’s soothing qualities.

You can try a mix of cucumber, honey, and yoghurt to create a hydrating and delicious-smelling mask.
