The provider has cut £108 off the usual price, but is it the best deal to go for? Those who pick Samsung’s own store will get a much better deal

Opting for a pay-per-month mobile contract can be a more affordable way for tech fans to upgrade to a swanky new handset. Sky Mobile has launched a huge £108 saving on the Samsung S24 device dropping £3 off the monthly price but a closer look shows Amazon and Samsung store shoppers will get a much better deal.

Despite not officially being branded as an ‘offer’ Amazon is selling the S24 device for £859 while Samsung has a much better price of £799 – both deals that beat Sky Mobile’s rival price drop. Shoppers can claim a huge chunk of money back from Samsung when they buy, including a free pair of Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.

Those who buy the S24 device from Samsung can claim £200 back in cashback as well as the free Buds 2 Pro earphones, dropping the price of the device to £599. Amazon shoppers on the other hand, who pick the £859 price, can claim £150 back which drops the price to £709 – it has nothing on Samsung but is still miles better than opting for Sky’s newest ‘deal’.

Sky Mobile is now selling the S24 for £25 per month, one of its cheapest prices ever listed for the contract. However, while it offers a more affordable way to split the cost for those who can’t afford to buy it outright, shoppers will pay more in the long run for the privilege.

Unlike its usual £28 per month price it is of course cheaper than usual, saving Sky customers £108 over the length of the contract. The next catch comes into the plan length which is notoriously long for a mobile plan, 36 months to be exact. This brings the total price of buying the S24 device to £900 and that is before you’ve picked any data plan.

In line with its new offers users can currently get 100MB of data free with the S24 Sky contract but that’s not likely to be enough to scroll or spend time listening to music. 3GB of monthly data starts at £6 per month while a bigger 25GB of data is an extra £10 per month – so, an added £360 to the cost if you used this data amount across the full 36-month plan.

It’s an example all tech shoppers should be aware of, while Sky Mobile’s S24 plan is certainly cheaper than usual it’s safe to say it’s not the cheapest price around and consumers would be better off buying the device outright if their budget allows them to do so. Samsung’s £799 S24 price with the £200 cashback drops the price down to £599, plus the fact all current shoppers will get a £159 pair of earphones thrown in for free too.

You can compare all three Samsung S24 deals from Sky, Samsung and Amazon. For shoppers looking for another brand of phone Carphone Warehouse is currently running an eye-catching offer on the Google Pixel 8a.

Anyone who picks the newest handset will get a pair of Pixel Bud earphones for free, a deal that goes up against Samsung’s free Galaxy earbud offer.
