A bus driver whose vehicle appeared to get stuck moments from the depot has left onlookers in stitches as crowds of witnesses heckled him, declaring he ‘can’t park there’
A bus driver has been cruelly mocked after his vehicle appeared to get stuck yards from the depot.
The awkward moment, which took place in Luton, Bedforshire, was witnessed by scores of onlookers who couldn’t help but laugh at the blunder. “You can’t park there, mate,” said one man at the beginning of a four-minute video of the incident posted to Facebook.
On-board passengers gazed out of the window while the bus’ wheels spun rapidly as the driver tries to fix the mistake. His efforts appear to be in vain, however, as a bystander steps into the road to comically direct oncoming traffic.
The camera then panned to show a crowd of people pointing and laughing as one man declared: “This is the funniest s**t I’ve ever seen!” Several more then crowded into the back of the bus, hoping the added weight at the rear would help shift the heavy vehicle.
It only made things worse, however, as smoke began to pour from the back tyres. Another idea saw concrete and wood placed in front of the wheels, which did nothing but add to everyone’s amusement.
“It’s mad… it’s kicking off,” another man at the scene said. “I’m so confused. Luton’s a simulation – don’t come to Luton!” His pal then shouted towards the driver: “Zero IQ. He’s just doing burnouts at this point. And there’s about a billion hours of traffic behind.”
As another bus passed by with ease, witnesses erupted into loud cheers. Those who watched the video on Facebook were less than impressed, however, slamming those present for not doing more to help. “Just there laughing like some kids instead of everyone there pushing the bus baffles me,” one person responded.
Another added: “I don’t think so it’s funny at all.” A third added: “Instead of standing there laughing why not all help out.” And a fourth asked: “Why didn’t you all just push it the amount of people there wouldn’t be hard.”
A spokesperson for Arriva said: “An investigation into this incident is ongoing.”
