Everything police have said so far on the shooting
Hackney Police posted on X about the shooting at 9.50pm. The statement reads: “A statement from the Met Police read: “Officers responded to reports of a shooting in Clissold Park, N16 at 7.06pm on Wednesday, September 17.
“A woman in her 40s was treated by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance. She was taken to hospital, where she remains and we await an update on her condition.
“A man in his 40s also received treatment for gunshot wounds. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, he was later pronounced deceased at hospital. Enquiries are ongoing to identify his next of kin.”
Police also said that a gun was found at the park, with the statement adding: “A firearm which is believed to be involved in the incident was safely recovered at the scene.”
