Prince William has returned to royal duties and an expert has claimed that there is one small sign that the ‘humble’ royal has stepped up during Princess Kate and King Charles’ health challenges

Prince William has returned to work for the first time since Kate’s cancer news – and one expert has spotted a small signal the future King has “stepped up” during the tough period.

After Kate announced she is being treated for cancer in a moving video message, Prince William paused his royal duties to spend time with his wife and children while George, Charlotte, and Louis were on their Easter holidays. Now they have returned to school for the new term, William has resumed his official duties.

With both Kate and King Charles being treated for cancer, it is both a personally difficult time for William and presents a professional challenge: with two of the major players unable to work for the time being, as the most senior royal available to conduct engagements, William will have to balance his family and royal responsibilities. However, one expert has claimed that there is a subtle sign that the “humble” Prince of Wales is managing to meet this challenge.

For his first engagement, William visited the food distribution charity, Surplus to Supper, where he was given a get well soon card for his wife, and promised one of the volunteers that he would take care of Kate. Body language expert Darren Stanton claimed that during the engagement, William showed exactly how much he is “stepping up” to the plate amid the health challenges his wife and father are gong through.

“Overall, the appearance really showed that William isn’t afraid to get stuck in. He clearly takes his role as future monarch seriously,” said the expert speaking on behalf of Betfair Live Casino, “but doesn’t want to be seen as too far removed from society.

“The fact that he worked alongside some of the other people in the kitchen really contributes to the overall perception that he’s very much an equal. When it comes to his duties, he does an excellent job maintaining his composure and professionalism. He’s stepped up in a lot of ways, but still takes on duties with elegance and integrity,” explained Stanton.

The expert added that William showed his “humble” approach through one particular gesture. “Although he adopts some forms of etiquette, he is very down-to-earth and humble. This is denoted by his open-palmed gestures – he’s a very approachable person,” explained the expert. “He isn’t massively extroverted, but tends to keep things low-key and appears genuine whilst talking to other people.”
