Suspected house burglar is found ‘asleep in car’

A man has pleaded guilty to burglary, assault and driving offences following incidents in Hook and Fleet. Jamie Drablow has been charged after police received a report that a television, Xbox, alcohol and an internet router had been stolen from an address on Holt Lane, Hook, on Friday, August 22.

Officers also responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on The Key, Fleet, at around 2am on Sunday, August 24.

Officers found Drablow asleep in a VW Golf. He tried to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended and detained.

Following enquiries carried out at the scene, officers established Drablow had been disqualified from driving until September 2027 and the vehicle was not insured. He then assaulted five police officers.

Drablow, 25, of Wiltshire Road, Wokingham, appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 26 and pleaded guilty to the following offences:

Burglary dwelling and theft

Assault by beating x 4

Common assault

Drive whilst disqualified

Use a vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance

Possessing a controlled drug of Class B

He was remanded into custody and is due to be sentenced at Winchester Crown Court on Thursday, September 25.
