A suspended South London Labour councillor has denied sexually assaulting a woman four times and showing her homemade masturbation videos. Irfan Mohammed, 41, appeared at Inner London Crown Court charged with multiple sexual offences on Wednesday (August 27), alongside family members Kaymren Mohammed, 38, and Zairab Mohammed, 71.

All three men are accused of controlling and coercive behaviour. Irfan also faces four counts of sexual assault and one count of exposure, while Kaymren faces an additional three counts of assault by beating. The offences allegedly happened between June 2024 and July 2025 in Southwark.

Irfan wore a grey suit as he pleaded not guilty to all six charges. The reported sexual assaults were allegedly captured on video, the court heard. Arraigning Irfan on the controlling and coercive behaviour, the court clerk said the offence alleges he ‘caused her to watch videos of masturbating’ and ‘told her he could do anything, which she understood was a threat’.

In relation to Kaymren, who denied all four charges against him, the court heard the controlling and coercive behaviour charge alleges he ‘physically assaulted her and controlled her to not to leave the house’, while causing her to ‘fear violence on at least two occasions’.

Zairab, who required a Punjabi interpreter, did not enter pleas during the short hearing. A trial, expected to last seven days, was fixed for June 29 2026. All three men, of Copleston Road in East Dulwich, are on conditional bail not to leave the boroughs of Southwark or Lambeth, or make any contact with the complainant. Judge Michael Evans KC also warned the men about not turning up to court.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Irfan Mohammed studied business at London Metropolitan University in the early 2000s then qualified as a lawyer at City St George’s University in 2023. His previous work includes directing a butcher business and serving as a board member for a housing association.

Mr Mohammed was first elected to Lambeth Council as a Ferndale ward councillor in 2018, re-elected to Clapham Park in 2022, and served as Deputy Cabinet Member for Inclusive Economy before his suspension. He is now listed as an independent on the Lambeth Council website.

A Lambeth Council spokesperson previously said Mr Mohammed has been suspended from his council position and the Lambeth Labour Group, ‘pending resolution of the allegations against him’. “We are unable to make further comment due to the ongoing criminal investigation,” added the spokesperson.

Scotland Yard has said three men were charged after ‘a fast-paced investigation by detectives from the Central South Public Protection team’, following an incident on July 12 where a woman reported being assaulted. A spokesperson said she was not taken to hospital and all three men were arrested at the scene.
