A fascinating glimpse into the mind of teenage Taylor Swift has sold for an impressive £14,200. The handwritten notes, part of a questionnaire for MIZZ Magazine, include doodles and even confessions from then 19-year-old Taylor that she was insecure about her appearance.
The highly sought-after notes were auctioned off by Bonham’s in London on Wednesday (12 June). The teenage Swift confessed: “If I could be someone else for a day I’d be… Rachel McAdams or Miranda Kerr. I wonder what it’s LIKE to be that pretty.”
The singer, who is currently on her Eras Tour in the UK, included a doodle of a cartoon girl holding a guitar with a speech bubble asserting: “I like to write songs about boys”.

Bonham’s revealed the backstory behind these insights, saying, “In August 2009, the vendor who was working for MIZZ Magazine as a features writer met Taylor Swift and her mother in London at her hotel. The vendor asked her to sign her copy of MIZZ Magazine which had Taylor on the front cover. She also asked her to fill in the questionnaire for a future issue.”
Interestingly, the question ‘Who Taylor would rather kiss’ was struck through with black ink by the pop star’s mother after reviewing the questions before the meeting. Despite this attempt at censorship, the names Taylor Lautner, Joe Jonas and Zac Efron can still be seen.
Expected to be worth between £2,000 – 3,000, the questionnaire fetched much more than anticipated. Among other notable responses was Swift’s proudest moment: “My proudest moment was… When every show on my first headlining tour SOLD OUT this year and being on the cover of Rolling Stone.”
Taylor’s other questionnaire answers included: “My biggest secret is…Who the song “Love Story” is about. I’ll never tell! ” and “I can’t live without…’My guitar.'” In a touching tribute to her fans, the note described Swifties as “The most beautiful, dedicated, creative hilarious, sign-making, dress-wearing, wonderful people. I adore them.”
