Three men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a teenager was shot and stabbed in an ambush. The victim is fighting for his life in hospital after being attacked while cycling in Dagenham.
The men – two aged 19 and one 26 – are still in custody. Officers raced to Whalebone Lane South in Dagenham at about 5.20pm yesterday (May 2) to reports of a man having been stabbed.
Detective Inspector Iain Wallace, who is leading the investigation for the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “We know that the victim was riding a bike on the street when he was attacked by a group of men who arrived at, and left the scene, in three cars.

“Three men are in custody and our enquiries are moving forward to identify the others involved. This wasn’t a disagreement or a fight, it was an ambush that has left a 19-year-old fighting for his life.
“If you have information that could help us take these dangerous individuals off your streets please do get in touch.“ A crime scene is in place at the location and local enquiries are ongoing.
