A teenager was attacked and robbed before being left injured on a South London street yesterday (Tuesday, May 14). The Metropolitan Police were called to Manor Road in South Norwood at around 4.19pm on Tuesday afternoon, close to Norwood Junction Overground and Railway station.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man, believed to be in his teens, with injuries in the street. He told the police a group of men had demanded he give over his phone before attacking him.
He was then left there on the street before being found by the police. After being rushed to hospital, the teenager’s injuries were assessed as neither life-threatening or life-changing.

His family have now been informed of the incident, the Metropolitan Police have confirmed. Two men have now been arrested in connection with this attack, and are in police custody.
A crime scene on Manor Road remains in place while officers continue their enquiries. However, the police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The full statement from the Metropolitan Police says: “Police were called to Manor Road, SE25 at about 16:19hrs on Tuesday, 14 May following reports of a robbery. Officers attended and found a male, believed aged in his teens with injuries.
āIt was reported that a group of men had demanded the victim’s phone, before assaulting him. The victim was taken to hospital where he remains.
“His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening. His next of kin have been informed.
āTwo men were subsequently arrested in connection with the incident. They were taken into custody where they remain.
āA crime scene remains in place at the location and enquiries are ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have any information are encouraged to call 101 quoting CAD 5351/14MAY24.ā
