A mum has been branded a ‘terrible mother’ after she took to social media to complain about people at a rave who were ‘bumping into’ her while she was holding her 10-month-old son
A mum has sparked outrage after taking her 10-month-old child to a rave – while brazenly slamming fellow revellers who bumped into her as she was holding the infant. The unnamed mum-of-one shared her frustration on social media and moaned about party-goers dancing and singing at the event.
Yet, her gripe with fellow attendees soon backfired when online users criticised her for bringing her tiny tot to the musical event. Taking to Reddit to air her grievances, it was clear the woman expected others to sympathise with her predicament.
She wrote: “Just a little reminder, if you ever go to a show and see a child or baby there, I don’t care how lost you are, have some respect. Last night I went to Zeds Dead here in Spokane…and it was an awful experience. People kept bumping into my 10-month-old son, one guy spilled his drink on me and would not stop bumping into me. I got smacked around a few times and, worst of all, we were so bundled that we literally couldn’t move.

“I had to yell at everyone as I was shoving my way through the crowd, ‘WE HAVE A BABY, YOU NEED TO MOVE.’ And people were very rude about it.” She continued: ‘It’s not that hard to have fun and still be considerate of each other. That’s what this community should be about. Not getting so messed up that you become completely unaware of yourself and your surroundings.
“Raving should be a safe and enjoyable environment for anyone, not a place where people go to be rude and hurt each other.” Despite thinking she’d gain support by posting a plea for kindness online, her request was met with harsh criticism. People reading quickly condemned the mum for bringing her child to the rave, labelling her a “terrible mother.”
One person commented: “I sincerely do not understand why anyone would think it’s appropriate to bring a child to a rave and then be shocked when people are outraged. That poor kid.” Another user wrote: “When there is no other option as a parent sometimes… you have to stay home.” And someone else added: “Other options: Don’t go. Put your baby first. ‘My baby was happy’, Hell no that baby wasn’t. That had to be hell on earth.”

“Most babies just love the chaos of being bumped into and spilled on in a loud environment. That’s why you see babies on the bar dance floor at 2am,” quipped another person. And someone else commented: ‘I’m a terrible mother and I posted on social media to prove it!”
Following the backlash, the mum returned to Reddit, directing her anger towards them instead. She explained that she had no other option but to take her baby to the rave as she couldn’t find a babysitter and had already purchased the tickets. And to prove that she really is a terrible mother, she added that she had taken the same child to a rave at four months old and he had been fine.
She retorted: “For all y’all that want to clown [on my post], go do something else with your lives. Seriously, if you have to sit here and drag on some ridiculous drama that I’ve moved on from, then you all can, too. Go find someone else to judge and criticise for their choices. Seriously, if this is entertaining for you, you’re focusing on the wrong things. My family is happy and healthy and honestly all this unnecessary toxicity has turned me away from the rave community.”
