The new Salad Creation stations, which are being introduced in stores this week, will be divided into three sections to help shoppers create their perfect salad
Tesco is making a huge change to its vegetable aisle by introducing a new “Salad Creations” bay across all its larger supermarkets.
The new stations, which are being introduced in stores this week, will be divided into three sections to help shoppers create their perfect salad. First, customers will be able to select a base, followed by a builder, then finally a topper. Some of the ingredients you’ll be able to purchase for the base of your salad include Lettuce and Peashoot Summer Salad, while for the builder, options include Smoked Shredded Beetroot and Extra Large Avocado.
Then for the topper, some of the dressings Tesco will stock include Sriracha Honey and Coconut Chilli and Lime. You’ll also find these salad items: Sweetheart Lettuce, Grated Carrot, Spring Onions, Zingy Corn Salsa, Chopped Maple Orange and Wholegrain Mustard Dressing, Caesar Dressing, Red Pepper Dressing, Chopped Avocado and Cucumber Dressing, Pepper and Salt Croutons, Garlic and Herb Croutons, Pickled Cucumber Kimchi, Pickled Pink Slaw, Chopped Miso and Orange and Ginger Dressing.
Tesco says it is responding to increasing numbers of TikTok users posting photos of their salad creations. Tesco Clubcard holders can buy four salad items for the price of three on the new bay for a limited time.
Tesco Prepared Salad Buying Manager Emily Hampson said: “Salads don’t have to be boring! They can be tasty, filling and suitable for many meal occasions. More exciting salads appear to be a foodie focus now, with increasingly imaginative creations with a varied range of inclusions appearing on TikTok and Instagram. Through our Salad Creations Bay we want to inspire customers to make their own best ever salads at home.”
In more supermarket news, Tesco is shaking up its Clubcard loyalty scheme and some shoppers will have the opportunity to win up to £100 worth of points. The supermarket is inviting three million customers to take part in “Clubcard Challenges” which consists of 20 personalised tasks.
