Transport for London (TfL) has updated its TfL Go app to allow passengers to get real time alerts on disruptions and arrivals. The updates include real-time status updates so passengers can keep their fingers on the pulse when there are issues on the Tube, Elizabeth line, DLR, London Overground or Tram.
TfL has also redesigned the information about next train arrivals for Tube, DLR, and Tram services. The update can be used by simply tapping on a particular station, and has ‘next train’ information, which allows travellers to see where each service is going.
Customers can also suss out any bus stop and find the arrival times for anywhere in the capital just by scrolling on the map. Beforehand this was just local bus stops based on what’s nearby from your GPS.
The app went live back in 2020, giving customers real-time arrival times and information across the capital. It also suggests alternative routes, and walking and cycling options, and provides information about which stations have toilets and exactly where to find them.
It boasts around 1.4 million monthly users and has been downloaded over 10 million times. It was also updated earlier this year to let users access their contactless or Oyster online account and then view their journey history as opposed to having to do so via the TfL website.
Emma Strain, Customer Director at Transport for London said: “We know how important it is for our customers to feel in control of their journeys, and these new TfL Go features are all about making that easier. Whether it’s getting real-time notifications on your line or checking which bus stop to head to next while on the Tube, these updates give our customers the information they need, right when they need and want it most.”
