Renée Zellweger films solo scene for new Bridget Jones waving to fans

If you’ve ever been sat at your desk wishing you could swap out your heels for your favourite cosy slippers, it seems you’re not alone, as the cast of Bridget Jones have been doing exactly that whilst on set. Snaps of Isla Fisher, who plays a friend of Renee Zellweger’s titular character in the new sequel, Mad About the Boy, showed the Aussie actress swapping her sturdy heels for a comfy pair of sheepskin slippers as she filmed on location in London.

Isla donned a pair of backless fur-trimmed slippers, which look just like UGG’s Scuffette II Brand-Debossed Suede Slippers, £100 here, in beige as she traversed the London streets. The iconic slippers are a must-have for pottering around the house, with a cosy sheepskin lining and sturdy sole.

However, the £100 price tag is enough to make some shoppers baulk, which is why we tracked down some fantastic alternatives that’ll give you Isla’s off-duty look for less. If you want to stick to the real sheepskin quality, Just Sheepskin’s Ladies Duchess Sheepskin Slipper, £68 here, are a great alternative.

Also made with a 100% sheepskin lining, the Just Sheepskin Duchess slippers are super soft and comfortable. The fluffy sheepskin lining is perfect for keeping your feet warm and cosy, whilst the backless design means you can still wear them year round without your feet getting too toasty.

The suede exterior is also super soft, but if you’re worried about spills and staining, they’re also protected with a J.U.S.T.Guard water and stain resistant coating which keeps them looking as good as new. The slippers also have a gel-infused memory foam sole which moulds to your foot shape and provides extra support and comfort for wearing all day long.

To make sure you don’t take a tumble, the soles are also made from a durable textured material that gives you extra grip so you don’t need to worry about slipping. Although they’re available in several different colourways, you can still snap up the light beige colour that’s almost identical to Isla’s cosy pair.

If you prefer a more classic chestnut colour, we’re also a big fan of Dunelm’s Ladies Sheepskin Mule Slippers, £35 here, which have a very similar look, right down to the seam down the middle of the upper. They’re also made from 100% genuine sheepskin, with a fluffy lining and a soft suede outer material.

However unlike Isla’s light beige colour, the Dunelm pair comes in a rich chestnut brown colour with a contrasting cream sheepskin trim and lining. One reviewer wrote: “These slippers are so comfortable and warm, but make sure you stick true to size as they do come up big.” We’re definitely on board for giving our feet a mid-work slipper break!
