One of the most eagerly awaited sporting events of the summer is about to get underway. The Paris 2024 Olympic Games kick off this week, with the opening ceremony tomorrow afternoon from 5.45pm (Friday, July 26).
In total, 329 events will be contested in Paris across 32 sports, before the closing ceremony on Sunday, August 11. Millions of fans are now preparing to travel to the French capital to watch the famous tournament.
But if you haven’t been lucky enough to get tickets, don’t worry. Here’s a list of places in London to watch the 2024 Olympics, for free.

Eccleston Yards – Belgravia
Belgravia is hosting a Summer of Sport with screenings of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. With over 100 seats to choose from across the courtyard, spectators can immerse themselves in the action whilst enjoying an array of food and drink offerings.
Grosvenor Square – Mayfair
Mayfair will feature an official Team GB Fanzone to screen the 2024 Paris Olympic Games in Grosvenor Square, right in the heart of the neighbourhood. From Friday, July 26 to Sunday, August 11, the free outdoor event will broadcast the Olympic Games daily.
Visitors can support Team GB on a large outdoor screen from the comfort of deck chairs, while enjoying a variety of food stalls and an al fresco bar.
Lewis Cubbitt Square – Kings Cross
Transformed into an official Team GB Fanzone, Lewis Cubitt Square will give fans at home the chance to celebrate alongside the athletes themselves and join the crowds cheering on Team GB’s star athletes in Paris. Each day from 10am, visitors to the free Fanzone can watch sporting events on the big screen, enjoy live music, try their hand at Olympic-themed activities and participate in a jam-packed programme of onstage entertainment, including Q&As and medal celebrations with Team GB’s returning athletes.
Portman Square Gardens – Marylebone
For the first time, Marylebone is hosting Games in the Garden to screen the Paris 2024 Olympics. The games will be shown from Wednesday, August 7 to Sunday, August 11, from 12pm to 8pm each day.
