The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has listed 178 medical conditions that qualify you to claim Personal Independence Payment (PIP). As per the most recent government data released last week, there are currently 3,744,671 PIP claims in the UK as of April 2025.
Those eligible could receive a regular support payment of up to £110 per week. This benefit is designed to assist individuals who require additional help with daily living tasks.
Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is a disability benefit provided to those with long-term physical or mental health conditions, disabilities, or learning difficulties. It’s particularly beneficial for people of State Pension age who wish to maintain their independence at home.
These payments are not means-tested and are tax-free. Recipients will receive either £73.90 or £110.40 each week during the 2025/26 financial year, depending on the level of support required.

Payments are typically made every four weeks, meaning eligible claimants will receive either £295.60 or £441.60 per pay period.
This follows an increase in PIP rates, along with other benefits, by 1.7% in April in line with inflation, aimed at helping households manage rising living costs.
These are the new weekly rates, but it’s important to remember that PIP is paid every four weeks:.
If you qualify for both the enhanced daily living and enhanced mobility components of the payments, you will receive a total of £749.80 every four weeks.
If you qualify for both the standard daily living and standard mobility components, you will receive £412.40 every four weeks.
