Matthew Lewis, known for his role as Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter series, surprised fans with his transformation in the final film where he joined the fight against Lord Voldemort.

Since then, he’s been relatively low-key in the film industry, but he had a supporting role in a major film five years after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.

The 33 year old actor, who portrayed the timid Herbology student, has continued to act on stage, TV, and in films, but you may also recognise him from Me Before You.

In this film, he starred alongside Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin, playing the role of Patrick, the boyfriend of Emilia’s character Lou.

Matthew’s portrayal of the running-obsessed character was a far cry from Neville, leaving viewers astonished.

While Me Before You is the most successful film Matthew has featured in post-Harry Potter, he has also appeared in Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small, shared screen space with Margot Robbie and Simon Pegg in the film Terminal, and made an appearance in an episode of Death in Paradise.

Away from acting, Matthew hosts the Leeds United podcast ‘Doing a Leeds’ with ex-professional footballer Jermaine Beckford and is a Rugby League enthusiast.

He is married to American Angela Jones, whom he met while she was working with VIPs at Universal Studios in Florida.
