We’ve found out exactly how Molly-Mae creates her flawless ‘summer skin’ on holiday, and its thanks to one £18 glossy highlighter which gives that instant golden hour glow
There’s something about the glow you get on holiday that hits different than any other time you do your makeup. It’s usually a combination of sunshine, tan and probably a little bit of sweat giving your skin that gorgeous sheen that hits golden hour just right, but Molly-Mae Hague has found a way to recreate that exact look at any time – no holiday needed.
Sharing a snap of herself with her “Summer skin” – not to mention a cute behind the scenes video of daughter Bambi joining in with her beauty routine – Molly-Mae has managed to perfectly replicate a gorgeous holiday-esque glow. Whilst she didn’t tag the exact products she used, she did tag beauty brand REFY, who have confirmed exactly what she used to get the look.

The stand out product to use when creating Molly-Mae’s look is the Gloss Highlighter (£18) which creates that natural-looking glow. Unlike powders or creams, the gloss finish soaks into the skin thanks to its lightweight hydrating formula.
It’s non-stick, so you don’t need to worry about your face feeling tacky or your hair getting stuck to it all the time (we’re looking at you, lipgloss), and is super easy to blend. It also contains vitamin E which leaves your skin feeling nourished each time you use it.
The shade works on universal skin tones, and doesn’t leave behind a pearly or artificial looking glow. Instead, your skin simply looks hydrated, healthy and naturally dewy. Although it’s perfect for applying on your cheekbones, you can also apply the Gloss Highlighter on your eyelids, nose, cupid’s bow, collarbones and anywhere else you want the light to hit.
If you prefer a less liquid formula, HAUS LABS BY LADY GAGA Bio Radiant Highlighter Balm (£30) has more of a solid balm-style consistency, with a range of shades including a clear, colourless one that gives a naturally dewy look. For a hint of a pearly finish, you could also try out the Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer (£26) which has a liquid, easy-to-blend formula and comes in nine different skin shades.
However, Molly-Mae relied on a full face of products from REFY to create her golden hour glow, and prepped her skin using the Face Sculpt (£38) to moisturise and hydrate her skin, not to mention give it some instant lifting and sculpting. Next she applied Glow and Sculpt Primer (£24) which brightens and primes your skin and comes with a roller applicator to de-puff and lift.
To add some colour, she applied the Cream Blush (£16) and blended for a subtle flush of colour, before heightening her bronzed glow with the Cream Bronzer (also £18). Once blended, she applied the Gloss Highlighter along her cheekbones, with the result being a glow that looks fresh from a day in the sun with a your-skin-but-better-finish.
