Henry Rowley, known for his TikTok fame, has bagged his first significant TV role in MGM+’s Robin Hood, alongside Sean Bean.

He portrays the character Will Gamewell and expressed his excitement for the “amazing project” on Instagram.

Originally hailing from Leicester but now residing in London, the youngest of three brothers studied English literature at the University of Bristol.

His TikTok journey began with his first video upload in October 2021, with some of his sketches racking up millions of views.

One of his most popular videos features a spot-on impersonation of Keira Knightley, re-enacting scenes from Love Actually. This video has garnered over 180,000 likes on Instagram, reports the Mirror.

In an interview with Square Mile, he confessed that his upbringing was far from showbiz.

“Mum’s a counsellor, dad’s a doctor,” he revealed, and regarding his brothers: “Nick works in PR and Alex is an accountant.”

He never imagined he would one day star in an epic adventure drama alongside A-listers like Sean Bean.

Reflecting on his Robin Hood role, he said: ” It was the best experience of my life, far and away.

“For me that’s been a lifelong dream, to get a professional acting role and to be on a proper set with the cast and full crew and everything.

“Being there was better than the expectation. On my first day on set, I was giddy. I couldn’t stop smiling and saying to everyone, this is the most fun I’ve ever had. It’s just play with more stakes.”

After submitting an audition tape, he secured the role and was informed that he would be jetting off to Serbia for filming in three days’ time.

“Cancelled my trip to Mexico, went to Serbia, and had the best time ever,” he shared.

He left his marketing job to chase a full-time career in comedy and acting, and has since graced the stage at several Edinburgh Fringe shows.

Henry confessed that when he first started using TikTok, he didn’t know what it was, assuming it was merely “kids dancing”.

His mates urged him to share his impressions on the platform, and they were over the moon when the videos began racking up 30,000 views per day, particularly Minty, the posh girl at the afters.
