These coins were struck to mark the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s death.

Each of the three coins honours a different category of Shakespeare’s works – tragedies, comedies and histories. So, what makes this coin so extraordinary?

The user revealed: “It’s a hard to spot error affecting the edge of the coin that has attracted interest from collectors.

“Instead of the standard edge inscription, which should read, ‘What a piece of work is a man’, this one has the words from another £2 coin around the edge. Mint errors like this one can add significant value to common coins.”

The error coin is unique as it bears the edge inscription for king and country.
