A TikTok chef has shared a simple recipe for doughnuts that require just four ingredients – and people are seriously impressed with quite how delicious they are
While doughnuts might not be the first thing you’d think to whip up in your own kitchen, a nifty TikTok chef begs to differ, showcasing the ultimate simplicity with a four-ingredient doughnut recipe. The social media culinary sensation shared their easy-to-follow method on Caught Snackin’ (@caughtsnackin), unveiling their “hack” for whipping up these delightful mini treats in no time.
Their claim: “Only two ingredients in these fluffy doughnuts? No way… look at the fluff. Doughnuts with minimal work.” Despite the simple base of flour and yoghurt, you’ll need a couple more bits to round off the delectable snack.

Nonetheless, the doughnuts have earned applause from TikTok enthusiasts, one of whom gushed: “I’m so lazy so I love these easy, minimal ingredients and quick recipes! ! Thanks.”, reports the Express.
Here’s how you can make quick and easy doughnuts
Ingredients
- 100g plain yoghurt
- Vegetable oil for deep frying
- Cinnamon sugar (a mix of caster sugar and ground cinnamon for coating)
Making the doughnuts
According to the online chef, the yoghurt will make the mixture slightly sticky; but fear not – this is the secret to the doughnut’s irresistible “fluffy” texture inside.
Get a deep saucepan ready by pouring in ample vegetable oil for submerging the doughnut balls, heating it until it reaches 180C, and then gently lowering the batter into the hot oil once ready.
For equal portioning, scoop neat spoonfuls of the mixture using an ice cream scoop which will ensure bite-sized pieces perfect for popping straight into your mouth.
Fry the doughnuts in hot oil until they’re a lovely golden brown, then gingerly remove them with a spatula or slotted spoon.
While that’s happening, mix half a cup of sugar with one tablespoon of ground cinnamon in a bowl – feel free to add extra for adequate coverage. Alternatively, ready-to-use cinnamon sugar is also an option.
Directly from the sizzling oil, coat the warm doughnuts in the cinnamon sugar mixture using tongs to ensure they’re well covered.
The recipe has caused quite a stir on TikTok, leaving one user astounded: “Seriously this is how you make yoghurt doughnut?! and I’ve never tried it before?! I will make them at the weekend!” Whilst another exclaimed: “Look at the fluff”.
Nevertheless, some users weren’t entirely convinced, criticising that “you could taste the yoghurt in the dough”.
