The iPhone 17 is almost here as Apple gears up to unveil its latest smartphone to the world later this month. The tech giant is hosting its annual showcase at its headquarters in Cupertino, California on Tuesday, September 9, and while Apple is remaining tight lipped about its plans for the event, we’re expecting to catch our first glimpse of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and the rumoured iPhone 17 Air.

For Apple fans in the UK, the whole thing will be live streamed on the Apple website from 6pm BST. Writing on X last week, Apple CEO Tim Cook said: “Get ready for an awe dropping #AppleEvent on Tuesday, September 9.”

While further details are being kept under wraps for now, one thing is for certain: the new phones will come with quite a price tag. That’s why many shoppers are turning to previous models from the likes of Sky Mobile, Wowcher and Amazon, which now offer hundreds of pounds in savings on devices including the iPhone 12 to iPhone 16e.

With this in mind, here’s a selection of our favourite iPhone deals.

iPhone 16e – £18 per month (was £19)

The iPhone 16e is Apple’s latest smartphone, released in February as a more budget-friendly version of the standard iPhone 16. Now, Sky Mobile has reduced it to the ‘lowest ever price’ of £18 when spreading the cost.

There’s also no upfront cost to pay, with a total saving of £48 up for grabs over the life of the 36-month plan. The phone only comes with a small data allowance of 100MB, which may not be enough for some users, but more options are available including 50GB for £12 and unlimited for £20.

iPhone 13 – £249 (was £480)

One way to pick up a new phone without breaking the bank is by opting for a refurbished model like this iPhone 13 from Wowcher. Originally released in 2021, this deal comes with a 48% discount and is ideal for those not fussed about having the latest model.

The main thing to note here is that the price you pay depends on the phone’s condition, with this model available as ‘acceptable’, ‘good’ and ‘very good’. While the device may show some signs of cosmetic wear, Wowcher says it has full functionality and has been refurbished with ‘Apple-compatible’ parts.

There’s a slight caveat with this deal as shoppers must pay an £8.99 delivery fee, but there’s also a choice of five colours: starlight, black, red, green and pink.

iPhone 12 – £165 (was £429.99)

Another standout Wowcher deal is this iPhone 12 for £165, a saving of £264.99 or roughly 61%. Again, the final price depends on the phone’s condition, with prices ranging from £165 for an ‘acceptable’ 64GB model to £260 for a ‘very good’ 128GB model.

Shoppers can choose from colours including purple, black, red, blue and green. Apple released the iPhone 12 in 2020 but it’s still compatible with the latest iOS and is expected to run on the next update, though this is not confirmed.

As with the iPhone 13, Wowcher charges an £8.99 delivery fee with this deal, while its box and accessories may be generic.

iPhone 16 – £698 (was £799)

Shoppers preferring a new model can find a £101 discount on the iPhone 16 at Amazon when buying outright. This handset is coming up to one year old and is now around £100 cheaper than the iPhone 17’s expected £799 launch price.

However, shoppers should consider if it’s worth hanging on and paying that extra £100 to get the brand-new model when it hits the shelves later this year. But for those sticking with the iPhone 16, there’s a choice of colours including ultramarine, black, white, teal and pink, as well as Apple’s powerful A18 processor and a raft of Apple Intelligence features.

Once again, Sky Mobile’s affordable alternative for the same model comes in at £22 when spreading the cost, while Amazon has also knocked £101 off the iPhone 16 Plus (£798) and £100 off the iPhone 16 Pro Max (£1,099).

iPhone 15 – £26.99 per month

The Currys-backed retailer Mobiles.co.uk is one of our favourite sites for affordable smartphone packages, including this iPhone 15 contract. It comes on iD Mobile’s £26.99 tariff with 100GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts and roaming 50 destinations.

There’s a £9 upfront cost for this plan, but those who can manage with a smaller data allowance may want to consider Sky Mobile’s £19 plan with 100MB and no upfront fee. One downside to the iD Mobile deal is that customers will be subject to a bill increase each year, with this plan set to rise to £28.49 from April 2026 and £29.99 from April 2027.
