Disney+ is set to raise its subscription prices at the end of September, but there’s a way to beat it as our Top Tech share a penny-per-day way

Disney+ users are being alerted as the popular streaming service is set to hike its prices once more at the end of September. Series, film, and documentary fans only have a few days left to lock into the current price.

From the 30th of September, prices for the standard tier of a year’s subscription are set to rise by 10%, up to £99.90, which is £10 more than the current price. Customers have a week to renew at the current £89.90 before the price increase kicks in.

As pointed out in a recent blog post from What’s On Disney+ this also comes with 12 months for the price of 10, which has been a tarriff us at Top Tech regularly advise viewers to pick to save. Streamers still have days left to pick the £89.90 yearly subscription, which works out to be only 24p per day.

This is for the Standard plan, which includes an account for up to two devices to stream at one time. It has 1080p Full HD quality, and includes downloads, as well as being ad-free. Alternatively, users can pick the monthly option, priced at £8.99 a month, but that does work out to be more expensive compared to the annual plan.

It is unclear whether or not Disney will hike the monthly prices of Disney+ subscriptions too, as well as the above annual plan. Disney+ isn’t the only streaming site on offer, although it showcases unique content, there are other options for viewers.

Get Disney+ for 24p a day

Disney+ has announced that it will up its annual subscription by 10% on September 30. Until then, shoppers can still lock into its £89.90 annual plan, which works out less than 30p a day.

Amazon’s Prime Video is available for £5.99 a month, which includes free delivery on Amazon and a whole host of shows to binge-watch, reports the Express. For those who need their TV fix, there’s also Apple TV+ for £8.99 a month, which boasts major hit shows like Severance, Ted Lasso, and Slow Horses.

Despite the irritating price hike, Disney+ boasts glowing reviews from customers on Trustpilot. One Disney+ viewer says: “I love Disney+. I’m a Star Wars and Marvel fan but since the addition of Starz it boosted my love, there’s even more content for adults now that’s worth it all round.”

However, the same user added: “Only reason it didn’t get five stars is Disney are not using their other brands in the subscription. If they did this could easily be the best subscription service ever, but there is much more content locked behind their own service.”

However, another five-star review says: “Good servers, good services, this nostalgia when watching old cartoons from TV. The subscription is really cheap compared to other streaming services.”
