Swifties have uncovered more footage they think show Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were always destined to meet
It’s no secret Travis Kelce has been a Taylor Swift fan for a long time. But now Swifties reckon they’ve found even more proof the couple were destined to meet.
Fans of the couple have been going wild over resurfaced footage reportedly filmed for the football player’s 2016 dating show. Years before the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the superstar started dating, Kelce starred in the E! reality show, Catching Kelce.
The premise was simple, Kelce met with 50 women from across the US in a Bachelor-style series, in the hope of finding true love. While he didn’t find “the one” on the show, something special happened, according to fans.
In footage reportedly filmed as proof of concept for the show, and shared on YouTube, Kelce opened up about his search for love while a recognisable song played in the background. As Kelce revealed feelings of loneliness, Swift’s 1989 track “Blank Space” blared out.
Now, it’s worth mentioning that Kelce might not have had any control over the song choice, but, either way, fans think the song is pretty significant. If the song was chosen on purpose, it backs up Kelce’s claim “Blank Space” is one of his favourite Swift songs and proves he has been a long-time fan.
When questioned about Swift’s discography earlier this year, he revealed he counts the 1989 hit among his favourite songs. During an episode of the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast, Kelce listed “Blank Space”, “Cruel Summer”, and “So High School” as his favourites.
Making the point on X, one fan explained: “In the concept video for catching Kelce they used blank space in one of the portions you can’t make this up. bro is not lying about his love for blank space.”
What’s more, fans think the moment is pretty special even if he wasn’t involved with the song choice, suggesting the footage is proof of an “invisible string” between the now-couple.
One impressed viewer said: “Talking about being lonely and wanting to find a partner while his future love’s music is playing in the background. What a world.”
