Clara Dao is known for sharing body positive content online. She wants to show her 620,000 Instagram followers that there’s beauty in being ‘flat-chested’ and ‘skinny’

That’s why it’s so confusing that people judge others based on what they look like. Clara Dao is on a mission to show that beauty lies within us all – no matter what we look like.
Dubbing herself an advocate for “skinnny” and “flat-chested” people, she uses her Instagram platform to remind people you don’t need curves to feel sexy or attractive. Sometimes people have naturally slender frames, and that’s totally ok.
She now boasts over 620,000 followers thanks to her candid approach to how she opens up about body image, but she recently talked about how she gets trolled online.
Though many people love and relate to her content, some people are super cruel to Clara online. She said she receives comments from people like: “I don’t get how you can be so confident looking like a surfboard.”
As well as being really mean, the words are just totally uncalled for, and social media users can’t believe that people have the audacity to make such comments online. Since she shared the story, many people have been quick to jump to her defence.
One person said: “You’re one of the main reasons why I’m so confident.” Another added: “Beautiful women. Come in all shapes and sizes. You are gorgeous. Can we stop basing peoples values on appearance and start judging them on their actions again please.”
A third replied: “Queen, you are empowering many of us. You are absolutely breathtaking. And non of those insecure haters are taking that away from any of us. Thanks for sharing your light. May we all keep shining.”
Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “Those that say such a thing ain’t never gonna go surfing, if you know what I mean. Keep being confident and amazing as you are. You slay!”
In a previous post, Clara also said it’s confidence that “makes people hot”. She claims it’s a feeling that comes from within, rather than an image you can convey.
Perhaps that’s why she spends so much time posing in bikinis and lingerie to show off her body in its natural form. She wants to show that thinner women can look and feel beautiful too.
In the past, Clara has also opened up about how she doesn’t care what other people thinks about she looks. She’s really happy in her skin, and she won’t let other people’s negativity get her down.
Previously writing on Instagram, Clara said: “I’ve never felt more confident in my life. I can confidently say I am a 10/10 and Idgaf about what anyone else has to say (cause it’s only a projection of their insecurities if they feel the need to body shame or put me down).
“I’m so done with letting other people and their sh***y opinions live rent free in my head. My body is so beautiful and so, so, so precious and does so much more for me than their opinions ever will.
“I love everything about me. I love my hair, the shape of my body, my eyes, my smile, my belly, my chest, EVERYTHING!! I’m just a girl who’s completely in love with HERSELF, and I hope every girl knows that she can be a 10 simply by believing that she is, simply by loving herself to the core and not letting anyone’s negativity affect her.
