The same stretch of the Piccadilly line will shut for consecutive weekends in West London
The Piccadilly line is set to partly shut once again in West London this weekend due to track work. There will be no service on the line between Acton Town and Uxbridge on both Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21.
This follows a similar closure last weekend between Hammersmith and both Osterley and Uxbridge for the same reason, while that weekend passengers faced severe disruption across the Tube network due to strikes. On Saturday and Sunday the Metropolitan line will also shut between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge for track work.
Affected travellers have been told to use replacement or local buses. More minor disruption will affect passengers on the Mildmay and Windrush lines on Sunday, while Elizabeth line trains won’t stop at Acton Main Line, Hanwell and West Ealing on Sunday due to HS2 engineering works.
In Central London, roads between Portland Place and Whitehall face disruption from midday and 4pm due to a march organised by Make Them Pay.
