Tonight, Tyson Fury will step into the ring for his highly anticipated fight against rival Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia. Tension is building as both fighters prepare to battle it out to be the undisputed boxing heavyweight world champion, with their ringwalks scheduled for 11.05pm BST. But what about the ‘Gypsy King’s’ life outside the ring?
Away from the spotlight, Fury’s fairytale romance with his childhood sweetheart Paris Mullroy has been a significant subplot to his boxing career. The heavy-hitting couple, who share seven children together, gave fans a glimpse into their life last year in their Netflix documentary series ‘At Home with the Furys’.
Meeting when Paris was just 15 and Tyson 17, the teen sweethearts married in 2008 at a church in Doncaster. Currently residing in Morecambe, Lancashire, their unique family arrangement includes three daughters; Venezuela, Valencia Amber and Athena, and four sons all called Prince, including their latest addition Prince Rico Paris Fury who was born in September 2023.

Asked why his children share the moniker ‘Prince’, the boxer explained: “I’m a king and they’re princes until they earn their rightful name.” Their names in full are: Prince Tyson Fury II, Prince Adonis Amaziah, Prince John James, and Prince Rico Paris Fury. Fury has also revealed that he named his eldest son after Prince Naseem Hamed, his favourite English fighter.
With a line of succession that would make even a monarch blush, Tyson and Paris’s brood shows no sign of slowing any time soon, with Fury hinting last month that baby number eight could be on the way.
Tyson Fury has also been open about the racial discrimination he’s faced as a Gypsy world champion, candidly telling ESPN: “I am a Gypsy and that’s it. I will always be a Gypsy, I’ll never change. I will always be fat and white and that’s it. I am the champion yet I am thought of as a bum.”
Beyond his love of boxing, Fury is also a big Manchester United fan. Travelling to Nice, France, to cheer on England during the 2016 Euros, the champion boxer famously splashed out 1,000 euros on Jagerbombs while mingling with fellow fans.
For a time, Fury also contemplated a career switch, publicly expressing his desire to run as an independent candidate for the MP position in Morecambe, his hometown. On his potential campaign, Fury said that ‘government focus was disproportionately towards services for immigrants, neglecting issues faced by the homeless and those struggling with drug and alcohol problems.’
