A group of friends were left gobsmacked after their Uber driver asked them a strange question in the middle of their ride, only to get an adorable surprise. While it’s common for Uber drivers to offer you water, the opportunity to play music, blast the heating or have a chat-free experience, it’s not often they provide a service like this one.
Four pals were confused when their driver asked them a seemingly random question. And sharing the experience on TikTok, passenger Thomas revealed what happened next.
In the short clip, he said: “POV: Your Uber driver randomly asks if you’re scared of dogs. You tell him ‘no?’.” Filming the unusual encounter in the cab, Thomas revealed a pup was then plonked onto the seat beside him.
He recalled: “He picks up Sheila [the dog] from the front seats and just hands it to you cos she’s scared of the highway.”
The video showed the small pup making herself comfortable in the lap of one of the female passengers, who was seen wiping away her tears of happiness from the situation.
Another woman also reached over to pet Sheila, who looked like she was living her best life as a lap dog. The cute pup held on to the woman’s arm while looking peacefully out of the window.
Thomas went on to write in the caption of the video: “A part of me thinks it’s just an excuse for Sheila to get pets… Uber gets a five star though.”
Uber has special pet-friendly options for passengers who want to bring their own pets with them on a ride.
And when it comes to drivers, Uber stated they use independent contractors who can travel with a pet or service animal if they wish to.
The video quickly reached over 1.4 million views – and people couldn’t believe how sweet the situation was. One person gushed: “I need to get on this Uber.”
Another said: “How to give more than five stars because this is how you do Uber rides right.”
A third remarked: “Oh, he’s getting a 100% tip from me.” And a fourth added: “This is my wildest fantasy come true. Give me all the dogs.”
