Clubcard holders can take advantage of the deal in selected stores across the UK
Chocolate fans will be pleased to hear that a major UK supermarket has taken several pounds off a big tub of popular chocolates ahead of the festive period. In a move that is sure to impress Christmas and confectionery lovers, Tesco has knocked just over £4 off a 600g tub of Quality Street.
The chocolates were originally £7, but for Tesco shoppers who have a Clubcard membership, they can now get a tub for just £2.95. The offer has, for now, sold out online, likely due to popular demand. It also says the offer is valid until October 7.
However, there is still stock left in selected stores, so customers are urged to head to their nearest branch to check in person. Some shops are still offering the £2.95 deal, while others are stocking it at a Clubcard price of £4.50. Clubcard holders should open the app to check.
Besides Quality Street, Tesco has also reduced the price of a 550g tub of Celebrations Milk Chocolates from £7 to £4.50 for those with a Clubcard, which you can check out online and in stores. Another tub of festive chocolates that are now cheaper is Cadbury’s 550g tub of Heroes.
With a Clubcard, a tub will cost you £5.25, instead of £7. A 300g box of Celebrations Milk Chocolate Chocolate Bars is also on offer for Clubcard holders, dropping from £5.50 to £4.50. A 270g pound of Heroes has also gone down to £3.95 Clubcard price.
Many people are snapping up the deals ahead of the festive season after spotting the offers in their local Tesco. On TikTok, a user called Charandmatilda24 posted a video of stacks of Quality Street tubs, and wrote: “Don’t walk, run to your local Tesco’s to grab a tub or 2 of Quality Street chocolates for only £2.95 instead of £7!!”
Many people were impressed by the discount, while others were seemingly shocked at its original cost. One person said: “I’m runningggg to Tesco.” A second said: “Wwwwhhhhaaat?!?! *rushes to tesco*.”
Someone else said: “Not in my Tesco’s, but they can differ from store to store in different regions of UK.” Another put: “I paid 2.95 today treforest tesco had loads.” One more said: “£4.50 in my local tesco.” Meanwhile, a separate user asked: “7 GREAT BRITISH POUNDS?!?”
The deal comes as Nestle has announced that Quality Street chocolates will once more be offered in paper packaging. This is part of the brand’s wider efforts to make all its packaging recyclable by 2025.
Nestle first introduced the eco-friendly, octagonal paper containers last year. At the time, Cheryl Allen, Head of Sustainability – Confectionery Europe at Nestle, said: “The Quality Street paper tub is an exciting innovation that we’re really proud of here at Nestle Confectionery.
“We’re committed to making our packaging more sustainable, keeping in mind the changing needs of shoppers and advancements in technology. Of course, with all potential packaging changes, we want to get it right, so this trial will bring us valuable information to inform our next steps as we keep pushing to reduce our use of virgin plastic.”
