Tributes have been pouring in for schoolboy Daniel Anjorin, who tragically lost his life in a sword attack in East London. The 14 year-old was killed on Tuesday (April 30), and a further four people were injured, including two police officers.

The attack took place just before 7am in Hainault. A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and was also taken to hospital with injuries.

Tributes have already poured in from people in London and across the UK. We are inviting people to leave their own tribute to Daniel on this page, and you can add your message in the comments here.

On our Facebook page, Laura Catherina Hackett said: “Oh my god, this just soooo unreal sadness for this young boy and his family. No words for the grief they must be feeling right now.”

Sheila Lawton wrote: “What can you say? Just condolences to his family and Rip young man x”. Robert Aria added: “Condolences to the family”.

Mandy Storan said: “Jesus, God rest his soul. Same age as my son, may he rest in peace.”

Jacqui Williams wrote: “What is wrong with the UK? How is a child murdered in the street, just going to school? This poor boy must have been terrified. His family forever broken. No parent gets over something like this. Heartbreaking doesn’t come close.”

A local resident, Ann Johnstone, told MyLondon: “For the 14-year-old to die the way he did is tragic. The area has become more dangerous with the nearby shooting which happened a few months ago, it’s just like anywhere else in London. It’s like the Wild West.”

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley told LBC: “The first thing you have to say is for the parents involved, who’ve lost their 14-year-old, and that is just horrific, and it’s everyone’s worst nightmare. I’m sure we’re all thinking about them.”
