Rightmove has revealed its most-viewed properties for last month, which includes a lighthouse-esque clifftop home with impressive views of the North Devon coast
Most people in the UK are gearing up for a summer holiday, but there would be no need for a getaway with this impressive coastal pad.
The extensive property sits in a private clifftop location in North Devon, providing incredible panoramic views of the sea. The five-bed home, set between the beaches of Croyde and Saunton, has been named in the top five most viewed properties on Rightmove last month – and it’s no wonder.
The unique eco-friendly home is set on grounds of more than three acres, which includes a foreshore, tidal beach, and a serene infinity pool that looks out onto the coastline. While the house has been viewed thousands of times, it comes with a hefty price tag that the majority of Brits won’t be able to afford, at a staggering £5,250,000.
Among the other top five most-viewed homes includes a nine-bed manor house on a site with royal links for £5m, and a modern six-bedroom barn in Warwickshire for £3.65m. Rightmove’s property expert, Tim Bannister, said: “This month, the influence of the ‘Bridgerton effect’ is clear in our most viewed property searches.
“People are searching for historical manors and striking grade II listed homes, reminiscent of those featured on the TV show. Additionally, homes in secluded locations are also gaining interest this month, as more people entertain the possibility of living in beautiful remote locations.”
The Devon home comes with its own detached guest lodge, an outside entertaining area, and of course a hot tub. The home boasts sleek interior features, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows so residents can view the ocean from every angle.
Photographs on the property website show a circular open-plan living area with curved sofas to echo the property’s architecture, neutral interior furnishings and wooden floors throughout, making for a seamless transition to the outdoor deck surrounding the outside. In the office, homeowners will be able to work from a marble and gold desk, looking straight out to the blue waters.
Residents will also be able to wake-up to the sunrise over the sea, with double beds positions to face the floor-length windows. The home also comes with a shiny white kitchen with integrated appliances and four modern bathrooms.
“The bespoke design has been brought to life through impressive engineering, with the building being anchored to the bed rock, blending whitewashed elevations with steel and glass, culminating with a lighthouse feature at one end giving almost 360 degree views of the coastline,” the online write-up says.
“The position combines privacy with a diverse range of breath-taking views, all set in around 3 acres, which includes a large area of foreshore, a private tidal beach area and coves.” The home would be best suited to adventure-seekers, with extensive walking opportunities along the South West Coastal Footpath on your doorstep, along with cycling routes and a plethora of watersport activities including paddle boarding.
